This literature review is devoted to the analysis of contemporary approaches applied in post-stroke rehabilitation. It highlights the global epidemiological and social significance of stroke and emphasizes that stroke remains one of the leading neurological conditions causing long-term functional limitations. The review summarizes theoretical perspectives on stroke pathogenesis, neuroplasticity, sensorimotor integration, and mechanisms underlying recovery of the central nervous system. In addition, the effectiveness of task-oriented therapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, constraint-induced movement therapy, and robot-assisted rehabilitation has been examined. The analysis indicates that psychomotor therapy may contribute to improvements in balance, coordination, and motor control; however, its comprehensive effects on motor, cognitive, and psychoemotional functioning remain insufficiently investigated. Furthermore, a lack of clinical studies addressing this therapeutic approach within the Central Asian population has been identified.
