This article is devoted to the study of the impact of a new coronavirus infection suffered by a woman during pregnancy on the course of pregnancy and the health of her newborn child. Cases of congenital malformations and genetic diseases in children born to mothers who suffered from COVID-19 during pregnancy are considered.Mothers of the examined children in the main group significantly more often had a complicated obstetric and gynecological history and complicated pregnancy and childbirth compared to the control group. Children born to mothers with a history of coronavirus infection had a lower height-weight indicator, in contrast to children born to healthy mothers, but the data were not reliable.COVID-19 during pregnancy may increase the risk of congenital anomalies in the fetus, but definitive conclusions require further research. Current data point to possible epigenetic changes and effects on intrauterine development, but long-term effects are still being studied.
