Annotatsiya

This article examines the semantic field of landscape terminology in Uzbek and English within a comparative linguistic framework. The study focuses on identifying semantic groupings of landscape-related lexemes and analyzing their structural, cognitive, and linguocultural characteristics. The research is based on comparative, semantic, descriptive, and linguocultural methods. The findings demonstrate that landscape terminology in both languages forms an interconnected system of lexical units organized into semantic fields such as relief, hydronymy, vegetation, and environmental conditions. While universal conceptual similarities are observed due to shared human experience, significant differences arise as a result of geographical conditions and cultural worldview. The results contribute to the development of lexical semantics and comparative linguistics.
