This study investigates the dynamics of arterial blood pressure (ABP) in student- athletes engaged in different sports disciplines during the academic year. The research was conducted at Karshi State University and involved male first-year students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, divided into two groups: Group 1 consisted of team sport athletes (volleyball and football players), and Group 2 included combat sport athletes (wrestlers and judokas). Participants were further categorized into two age subgroups: 18–20 and 21–23 years old. Blood pressure measurements were performed at three stages — at rest, immediately after physical exercise, and following a 5-minute recovery period — using the Korotkoff auscultatory method. The examinations were conducted twice during the academic year: in October 2025 (beginning of the first semester) and in April 2026 (middle of the second semester). The results demonstrated that resting ABP values in all groups remained within normal physiological range throughout both measurement periods. Physical exercise caused a moderate increase in systolic blood pressure of 13–15 mmHg across all groups, while diastolic pressure showed minimal changes. In team sport athletes, a 5-minute rest period was sufficient to restore ABP to baseline levels, whereas in combat sport athletes, systolic pressure remained slightly elevated after recovery, indicating a more prolonged cardiovascular response characteristic of strength-static physical loads. Seasonal comparison revealed that the 18–20 age group showed stable blood pressure indicators between October and April, while the 21–23 age group demonstrated a slight decrease in both resting and post-exercise systolic pressure in April, suggesting progressive cardiovascular adaptation over the academic year. Older athletes also showed more complete recovery after exercise, reflecting more efficient autonomic nervous system regulation. The findings confirm that regular sports training promotes favorable cardiovascular adaptation and underline the importance of monitoring blood pressure dynamics in student-athletes to prevent overtraining and detect potential cardiac abnormalities at an early stage.
