Cultural exchange in turkic poetics: east meets west

Annotatsiya

This article explores the dynamics of cultural exchange in Turkic poetics through the interaction of Eastern and Western literary traditions. Turkic literature, historically situated at the crossroads of civilizations, reflects a synthesis of Persian-Arabic classical heritage and European literary innovations. The study employs a comparative analytical approach to examine selected works from both classical and modern periods, focusing on the transformation of poetic forms, themes, and stylistic features.The findings reveal that Eastern elements, particularly Sufi philosophy and traditional poetic forms such as the ghazal and rubai, continue to play a central role in shaping Turkic literary identity. At the same time, Western influences have introduced new forms such as free verse, along with individualistic and modernist perspectives. As a result, Turkic poetics emerges as a hybrid literary space where tradition and innovation coexist.The study concludes that cultural exchange has not weakened Turkic poetic identity but has enriched it, making it more dynamic and adaptable in the context of globalization.
