Intracranial aneurysms are rare in children. Spontaneous aneurysm thrombosis is even rarer. Therefore, due to this fact, little studies of this problem have been performed. Cerebral aneurysms are characterized by an unpredictable clinical course and can lead to severe disability and even death. Data from a literature review showed plenty of information relating to spontaneous thrombosis of cerebral aneurysms. The incidence of this pathology in the pediatric population is not high; however, the statistics of spontaneous thrombosis of aneurysms is higher than in adults. In recent years, thrombosed aneurysms of cerebral vessels have been increasingly recorded, and this is more likely due to the development of diagnostic techniques. One of the features of this pathology in the pediatric population is that they are mainly localized in the bifurcation of the carotid artery and in the basin of the posterior cerebral artery. Today, there is no single protocol for the administration and treatment of patients with this pathology. In this article, we present a unique case of a spontaneously thrombosed large posterior cerebral artery fusiform aneurysm in a six-year-old boy.
