Annotatsiya

This article provides a scientific analysis of the impact of language barriers in emergency medicine on patient safety and treatment outcomes. Particular attention is given to patients with limited English proficiency (LEP) and the challenges that arise during medical history taking, symptom interpretation, and clinical decision-making. The study is based on an analytical approach, reviewing case studies and relevant scientific literature related to communication failures in emergency settings. The findings demonstrate that language barriers significantly contribute to diagnostic errors, delays in treatment, inappropriate medication use, and reduced patient satisfaction. The lack of professional medical interpreters further exacerbates these risks. The article also discusses potential solutions, including the use of trained medical interpreters, implementation of standardized communication protocols, and improvement of cultural competence among healthcare providers. Addressing these issues is essential to enhance patient safety and reduce preventable errors in emergency care.
