This article explores the theoretical and pragmatic aspects of nonverbal communication in virtualtexts. It examines how gestures, facial expressions, and tone-traditional features of nonverbal behavior-aretransformed into textual equivalents such as emojis, emoticons, punctuation, and capitalization in computer-mediated communication. The study emphasizes that while nonverbal signals in face-to-face interactionoften appear unconsciously, in virtual discourse they are used intentionally to express emotional tone, irony,or emphasis. The paper contributes to the development of pragmatics and sociolinguistics by analyzing thesemiotic and communicative value of nonverbal cues in online environments.
