The study of the formation and development of writing skills in preschool children is of great importance in studying the psychophysiological, psycholinguistic and neurolinguistic foundations of written speech activity, as well as in identifying problems with written speech at an early stage. This article discusses the formation and development of writing skills in preschool children, the complex processes and stages leading to the acquisition of writing skills and the advancement of written speech to the level of activity. The conclusions drawn from observing the writing process of preschool and primary school students are presented.
