Annotatsiya

This article is devoted to a comparative linguistic analysis of nature-related lexicon in the literary works of Ernest Hemingway and Togʻay Murod, with particular emphasis on Togʻay Murod’s novel “Ot kishnagan oqshom”. The study explores how lexical units connected with natural phenomena function as semantic, stylistic, and ideological elements within different cultural and literary traditions. Nature-related vocabulary is examined as a key expressive means that reflects the authors’ worldview, narrative strategies, and philosophical perspectives. The research demonstrates that Hemingway’s nature-related lexicon is characterized by semantic restraint, precision, and minimalism, often serving as a symbolic background for existential conflict and human endurance. In contrast, Togʻay Murod’s language reveals a culturally saturated and emotionally expressive system of natural imagery, deeply rooted in national consciousness, rural life, and moral values. In “Ot kishnagan oqshom”, nature is presented not only as a physical environment but also as a living moral and spiritual force influencing characters’ behavior and inner world. The article applies comparative, descriptive, and semantic-stylistic methods to identify similarities and differences in the use of nature- related lexicon. The findings confirm that despite typological differences, both authors employ nature vocabulary as an essential narrative instrument that enhances thematic depth and artistic integrity.
