Annotatsiya

This article analyzes the issue of subject-verb agreement in English scientific writing based on a comprehensive linguistic and linguodidactic approach. The study elucidates the theoretical foundations of this grammatical phenomenon, identifies the main types of errors found in scientific texts, and provides a profound analysis of their root causes. In particular, errors related to complex subject constructions, long-distance connections, collective nouns, and indefinite pronouns are studied based on empirical materials. Research findings indicate that subject-verb agreement errors are often linked to cognitive load, syntactic complexity, and native language interference. It also offers effective strategies aimed at ensuring grammatical accuracy in scientific writing, including editing techniques and corpus-based approaches. This work serves to develop scientific writing skills in English and expand the scope of linguodidactic research.
