Annotatsiya

This article examines how spatial metaphors in global news coverage shape public understanding of crises, drawing on Kremer and Felgenhauer’s (2022) cognitive linguistic analysis of COVID-19 discourse. The study reveals that container metaphors, personification strategies, and naturalization frameworks fundamentally structure crisis reasoning. The findings offer significant implications for Uzbekistan’s media landscape, suggesting pathways for developing metaphor-aware crisis communication strategies tailored to the country’s unique cultural and linguistic context.
