Microscopic soil fungi are essential components of the rhizosphere microbiome of medicinal plants, particularly those belonging to the Lamiaceae family. These fungi play a critical role in plant nutrition, growth regulation, and the synthesis of biologically active compounds. This study presents an in-depth analysis of rhizosphere fungal diversity, their ecological functions, and their contribution to plant productivity and stress tolerance. Based on extensive literature, it is demonstrated that fungal genera such as Aspergillus, Penicillium, Fusarium, Trichoderma, and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) including Glomus, Acaulospora, and Gigaspora dominate the rhizosphere. These fungi enhance nutrient uptake, particularly phosphorus, improve plant resilience, and influence the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. The study also reviews classical and molecular
