Annotatsiya

Swallowing disorder is one of the most common and severe clinical manifestations of cerebral stroke. Dysphagia causes food aspiration that can lead to the development of aspiration pneumonia, and increases the risk of fatal outcome. More than 2/3 of the cases of aspiration are clinically unnoticed and being detected at the stage of aspiration pneumonia (silent aspiration). The development of dysphagia can be considered in terms of bulbar or pseudobulbar syndromes, disorders of gnosis, praxis, or coordination of tongue and pharynx muscles.
