In the era of Industry 4.0, all industries must adapt to the new environment, be aware of social and technological changes. The textile industry, as a major industry, needs to be aware of digital transformation and technological evolution, commonly referred to as Textile 4.0. The main purpose of this article is to describe the past, present and future of the textile industry, with special emphasis on the main technological problems of the industry and social transitions. In the study, the achievements of some countries and the textile industry of our country are analyzed
