В настоящеевремяраспространенность стоматологических заболеваний и нуждаемость в лечебных и профилактических мероприятиях у детей остается высокой. несмотря на достижения в профилактике основных стоматологических заболеваний. Лидирующими являются поражения твердых тканей зубов - кариес и его осложнения. Кариес - это многофакторный. хронический патологический процесс, при котором в результате деминерализации эмали образуется дефект твердых тканей зуба. В настоящее время эта патология твердых тканей зуба до конца не изучена. В мире насчитывается около 400 теорий развития кариеса. Наиболее известные из них - химико-паразитарная теория Миллера (1884). физико-химическая теория Д. А. Энтина (1928). трофическая теория И. Г. Лукомского (1948). теория А. Е. Шарпенака (1949) и концепция академика А. И. Рыбакова (1971).
