Inflammatory periodontal diseases are characterized by steady growth and widespread prevalence among children and adolescents. Most often, periodontal disease occurs in children of school age. Pathological changes in the marginal periodontal disease are observed in children with dentofacial anomalies more than twice as often as in children without them. The main disease of the periodontal inflammatory genesis m children and adolescents is chronic catarrhal gingivitis. The leading role in the development of inflammatory- periodontal diseases is played by the microbial factor.
