Dental caries is the most common chronic disease among children and the most common cause of tooth loss. Occlusal tooth surfaces is 12.5%, with more then 50% lesions in children 6-18 years falls on tliis surface. Hygiene and fluoridation are not effective as a method of fissure caries prevention due to anatomical and histological characteristics of enamel in this area. Therefore, the only effective method of preventing fissure caries is fissure sealing.
