This article provides a review of the literature on the manifestations in the oral cavity of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Analysis of sources covers a large range of time: from 1989 to 2017. During this time, a lot of knowledge was accumulated about the relationship of the pathology of the underlying gastrointestinal tract with the higher ones. In addition, the survey presents data of scientists from different countries: Russia. America. England. Ukraine, Poland, and Japan. In the literature there are pathological effect of gastric contents on soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity, microbiological studies (crops, changes in the qualitative composition of the oral microflora), measurement of various chemical characteristics of saliva (buffer capacity, content of metal ions. pH data. etc.), and so the same effect of drugs used in GERD, on the organs of the maxillofacial area. etc. All scientific research was structured in this article for a better understanding of extra-esophageal manifestations of reflux diarrheal diseases, in particular, dental diseases and for the development of preventive measures to combat this disease.
