Places and traditions of pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan are mainly formed on the basis of Islamic ideology and Sufism teachings. The uniqueness of the geographical position of Uzbekistan, as well as the political and social processes that took place in it, determined that the problem of pilgrimage in this region has its own unique aspects. The article provides scientific observations and conclusions about the historical and theoretical roots of pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan, its specific aspects, problems and solutions in this area today.
