This article analyzes the development, implementation, and significance of international legal norms aimed at protecting women's rights from the second half of the 20th century to the present day. Special attention is given to the role of the United Nations and other international organizations in adopting key documents such as declarations, conventions, recommendations, and strategic programs that promote gender equality and the legal empowerment of women. The article explores the process of institutionalizing the concept of “women’s rights” in international law, highlights legal mechanisms designed to eliminate discrimination, and examines the extent of Uzbekistan’s participation in these international frameworks. Furthermore, it discusses the evolution of women's political, social, and economic rights and emphasizes the practical importance of international legal standards in ensuring gender equality.
