The article analyzes the works of domestic historians and economists, covering the processes of economic transformation in the regions of the lower reaches of Zarafshan, the main directions of economic reforms aimed at the economic development of the regions. Addressing the problem of regional reconstruction, scientific research by foreign scientists exploring the development of the Navoi free economic zone was also studied. Based on the materials studied, the state of industrial and agricultural production, in particular the mining, tourism, oil and gas, food, and construction industries of the region under study, was revealed.
