This article analyzes the issues of studying migration flows to Turkestan in the first years of the formation of Soviet power. The proclamation of the TASSR became the main reason for the transformation of the national composition of the republic. The author, based on archival sources, analyzed the places of settlement of the East Slavic diaspora as one of the large branches of peoples in Turkestan.
