This article provides information about the repression of the "Cotton affair" by the investigation team in Navoi region, their illegal activities, which are contrary to the rules of investigation, and their negative impact on the socio-economic life of the society, causing serious tragic consequences. Illegal activities of the investigative team of the USSR central Prosecutor's in Navoi region were scientifically analyzed on the basis of archival materials, memories of repression victims and other sources.
