This article reveals the history of the judicial system of the Uzbek SSR in 1980-1991 on the basis of historical sources and a comparative analysis of legal documents. In particular, anarchy in the judiciary during the years of perestroika, violations of laws in the judicial process, aggravation of the criminogenic situation in the republic, prosecution of citizens with fabricated charges in the "cotton case" and the implementation of their rehabilitation processes due to the decisive position of the leadership of the republic, figures of the judicial system.
