In this article the author analyzes the formation and development of diasporology in Uzbekistan. The study of this issue showed that the formation and development of this section of science in Uzbekistan differs from other countries in terms of time and essence of formation. In Western countries, diasporology became the subject of close attention of scientists already in the last quarter of the last century due to the problems of refugees and interethnic conflicts. In Uzbekistan, on the contrary, diasporology began to become relevant due to the increased interest of the multinational people of Uzbekistan in knowing their historical roots, their culture and traditions.
