After Uzbekistan gained independence, significant work was carried out in the field of state and public construction. At the same time, one of the tasks on the agenda was to carry out democratic reforms to overcome the complications of the former regime, together with neighboring union republics. The role of the intelligentsia in the correct conduct of this work, the formation of the legislative framework, and the creation of national statehood is great. This article presents the democratic reforms carried out during the years of independence, the dynamics of their implementation in chronological order. At the same time, the participation of the creative intelligentsia in these processes was discussed.
