The article examines the role and place of the inak position in the administrative department of the Khiva Khanate. In the Khiva Khanate, people of inak’s position were considered reliable support and advisers to the ruler. They had the main decisive vote in the election of the khan. The position of inak was mainly given to the khan's children and close relatives. According to the existing rules, this post is also passed down from generation to generation. Inak also remained in the capital as temporary deputies to replace the ruler. In appointing to this position, various aspects are taken into account, which are exemplary and superior to others.
