The article analyzes the role of political parties in the formation of representative bodies. In particular, the legal basis of their participation as an important subject of the electoral process. A comparative analysis of the mechanism of exercising the powers of political parties at each stage of the electoral process is carried out. The article also analyzes the legal and political experience of foreign countries in legislative and law enforcement aspects. The author presents relevant proposals and recommendations for improving the legal framework for the participation of political parties in the electoral process.
