This article provides information on the linguistic and terminological aspects of the appellation ‘iman’ (faith). Views on the pillars, types and conditions of faith ‘iman’ are highlighted. It also reveals issues of increasing and decreasing ‘iman’. It also describes the commonality and differences between the terms ‘Islam’ and ‘iman’.
