About the role of hyper- and hypoglycemia in the development of acute vascular complications - myocardial infarction, stroke, gangrene of the lower extremities; On the protective role of adiponectin as a predictor of type 2 diabetes, on the importance of glycemic control for early detection of carbohydrate metabolism disorders – impaired glucose tolerance and impaired fasting glycemia,about the role of metformin in preventing the transition of prediabetes to type 2 diabetes and heart pathology, about the gluco- and cardioprotective role of modern hypoglycemic drugs.
