The article analyzes the role of the pilgrimage tourism in the development of world tourism based on statistical data and describes the experience of advanced foreign countries in the organization of pilgrimage tourism. Also, the issues of development and prospects of the pilgrimage tourism in Uzbekistan were analyzed and scientifically based conclusions on the organization of pilgrimage tourism were given.
