This article examines some aspects of the scientific work of the outstanding scientist of the Eastern Middle Ages Kavkabi Bukhoroi. Based on an analysis of the research of Tajik scientists (a brief overview is given of the peculiarities of writing treatises by Tajik scientists A. Afsakhzod, A. Semenov, A. Radjabov, D. Rashidova, A. Nizamov), conclusions are formulated about the contribution of Kavkabi to the development of medieval Tajik musical science..
