Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are among the most common microbial diseases worldwide during pregnancy. The spectrum of UTIs in pregnant women includes both lower and upper urinary tract infections. Based on current literature, multiple risk factors for UTIs in pregnancy have been identified, ranging from anatomical features to socioeconomic status. UTIs are associated with serious maternal and neonatal complications, including preterm labor and neonatal sepsis. Early diagnosis and appropriate antibiotic therapy are crucial to reduce perinatal risks and prevent antimicrobial resistance.
