Annotatsiya

This article analyzes the role and importance of the phonetic principle in the dialectal division of the Uzbek language. It provides an in-depth overview of the key phonetic features that distinguish dialects, such as sound alternation, omission, insertion, stress, and intonation differences. The study presents examples of phonetic processes occurring in speech, including combinatory and positional sound changes such as assimilation, dissimilation, metathesis, procope, syncope, apocope, elision, prothesis, epenthesis, epithesis, and reduction. Furthermore, the article offers a detailed scientific analysis of vowel harmony – both palatal and labial – and their manifestation in Turkic languages, especially within Uzbek dialects. Additional phonetic features, such as umlaut, diphthongs, and vowel length, are also explained from a dialectological perspective.
