This article analyzes the national-cultural specificity of verbal phraseological units in the Russian and Karakalpak languages and the associated translation problems. The research object is stable word combinations with a verbal component that reflect ethno-cultural features. The study aims to examine culturally-marked images, their influence on interlingual transmission, and to develop translation strategies that account for the linguocultural context. It is established that the cultural conditioning of phraseological units creates translation difficulties, necessitating functional equivalence.
