The article presents the results of many years of observation of the growth of the root system of the rare and endangered plant black root of the green-flowered plant (Cynoglossum viridiflorum Pall.ex. Lehm.), which grows only in the eastern ridge of the Karakalpak Ustyurt and was introduced to the conditions of the Karakalpak Aral Sea region. Classification is provided, and the characteristics of root system growth and development under natural conditions and during introduction are also shown. As a result of the conducted research, it was established that the largest number of II-order roots are located in the middle part and at the base of the I-order roots at a depth of 15-40 cm (3.11-3.12-figures). With sufficient moisture, the roots of the II order reach a length of 7-10 cm. The III-order roots, densely located on the II-order roots, are almost transparent, reaching a length of 1.5-3.0 cm and a width of 0.08 cm (3.12-rasm). II- and III-order roots are covered with a small number of root hairs (10-15 pcs/mm2).
