Annotatsiya

This article analyzes the process of converting water from the Karshi Main Canal into drinking water using modern water treatment technologies. The study examines the main stages of water purification, including preliminary sedimentation, mechanical filtration, purification using activated carbon, and membrane technologies such as ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis. Since the water of the Karshi Main Canal mainly originates from the Amu Darya River, its hydrochemical composition varies seasonally and may contain suspended particles, mineral salts, and organic compounds. Therefore, the first stage involves sedimentation, during which large and heavy particles settle under the influence of gravity. In the following stages, sand filters and activated carbon filters are used to reduce mechanical and chemical impurities. At the final stage, membrane technologies remove dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria, and other contaminants. The results of the study show that a multi-stage filtration system significantly improves water quality and makes it possible to bring it to a drinking water standard suitable for human consumption.
