The article addresses international standards for combating torture and their integration into the national legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, particularly the Constitution. It examines key international documents governing the prevention of torture, punishment of perpetrators, and protection of victims, such as the UN Convention against Torture, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and others. Changes in Uzbekistan's legislation, including the updated 2023 Constitution, which strengthened human rights protections and prioritized individual interests, are analyzed. The article also highlights judicial reforms, monitoring of detention facilities, training of law enforcement agencies, and cooperation with international organizations.
