Given the multifactorial nature of the mechanism of atherosclerotic processes, the most promising direction in its treatment is the combined use of various drugs. However, a review of the literature shows that there are few scientific studies in this direction. Although the clinical and pharmacological properties of zinc and lipoic acid have been highlighted in a number of studies, their complex interactions are not yet fully understood and are of great interest today. This article describes in detail the results of a macroscopic and microscopic study in 160 rats in order to assess the chronic toxicity of the new complex drug Tiocin.
