Helicoverpa armigera (Hübner) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is a polyphagous insect and a primary pest of maize. This study investigates biological control strategies against this pest. Experimental results show that using Trichogramma pintoi twice and Bracon hebetor once (1:10 ratio) on a single generation of H. armigera provided 45-50% efficacy. Addi- tionally, field trials utilized pheromone traps to monitor peak egg-laying periods, which allowed for effective application of the biological control system “Trichogramma + Bracon” against the pest in maize fields. The results highlight the practical benefits of this integrated biological approach.
