In accordance with the dynamics of socio-economic reforms being implemented in our country, special attention is paid to social protection of the population and effective social policy. When implementing measures in this regard, first of all, if we follow a path compatible with our spiritual and moral values, historical traditions and national spirit, then, on the other hand, the emphasis is on worldview. experience and mastery of the achievements of developed countries is given. The article analyzes the theoretical approaches underlying the sociological study of the social protection system. At the same time, representatives of classical sociology as particularly important scientific categories in sociological research analyzed such concepts as social stratification, social protection, social helplessness, poverty, and social threats.
