To date, there is no consensus on the origin of chest deformities (ChD). There are many suggestions that the development of the disease can be caused by conditions such as rachitis, airway obstruction, high internal pressure of the uterus during pregnancy, a mismatch between the strength of the chest and diaphragm traction. Also, chondrodysplasia of the chest is manifested by rapid growth of the ribs, which leads to excessive growth of the arch of the ribs and causes ChD, although the theory is supported by many scientists, but its exact cause remains unknown, and research results contradict each other.
