The article gives information about teaching and developing Karakalpak national music and traditions in the secondary schools. It deals with the approaches and methods of teaching the subject «Music» at the lesson. The author also gives criterias for assessing learners’ knowledge, and ways of formation the teacher’s professional pedagogical activity.
