The article presents a theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of social capital mainly from the standpoint of an interdisciplinary approach. The article attempts to systematize social capital research, examines the current agenda and key trends characterizing the accumulation and genesis of social capital. The author of the study analyzed modern works in the field of social capital of persons with disabilities, which reveal the influence of psychological factors on the accumulation and effective formation of social capital. The research results indicate that despite the developed recommendations for increasing the social capital of people with disabilities, such as creating an accessible environment, inclusive and labor integration, careful selection of a social worker, this problem is still relevant and requires more careful study.
