The article is devoted to modern trends in the development of law as the main regulator of public life. The article reveals how, in connection with radical social transformations and the search by new states for their own development model, law is developing accordingly. In this regard, the sociology of law is one of the most rapidly developing areas in sociology. According to the author, in the development of law one can trace trends of humanization and differentiation and profit, which make it possible to take into account the diversity of forms, levels, methods of practical activity and the difficulties that can lead to offenses. The article defines how law can be not only a regulator of public life, but also the prevention of offenses in a rapidly changing public life.
