Objective: to analyze modern diagnostic methods that allow solving the clinical problems of pneumoconiosis. Methods: The study materials are the results of searches conducted in the databases of PubMed, ISI Web of Science, EMBASE and the Cochrane Library. Results: pneumoconiosis belongs to a spectrum of lung diseases caused by the inhalation of mineral dusts. The main pathological features are chronic inflammatory lung disease as well as progressive pulmonary fibrosis involving death. The high level of morbidity and mortality is due to inadequate supervision of work, the lack of early diagnosis and effective treatment. New methods of diagnostics and therapy make it possible to solve the clinical problems of pneumoconiosis, at the same time, various new research methods allow us to provide prospects for in-depth research.Conclusions. Much progress in basic and clinical research is needed to identify possible diagnostic methods and biomarkers.
