This article reveals the relevance and development of the sociology of medicine in foreign countries, which is based on the interdisciplinary development of sociology. The study of medicine as a social institution and a subsystem of society is revealed, analyzing the state of health of the population and the organization of medical care based on socio-economic factors, considering the social aspects of health and disease, studying interests, organizing and managing health.The definition of the subject of sociology of medicine as a field of medical science is the active development of social processes in the field of health, grouping in relation to the disease, the health of the population, the interaction of medicine with other components of society to substantiate the concept of social management of medical and social behavior of people, their health and the study of social aspects. , prognosis and behavior in illness.
