The article examines the study of political party and party systems, one of the important tasks of the partology, which is considered a relatively new branch of modern political science. One of the actual problems of this science is the study of theoretical approaches of various scholars to the issues of political party and party systems and their categorization. The author analyzed the theoretical conceptions about party and party systems, the problems facing them, as well as what are their advantages, disadvantages and their role in the development of society. The analysis is significant, in turn, with a focus on contributing to the development of political parties and the existing party system operating in our country. Also, in the modern foreign party, the issue of party and party systems has been studied very widely, and they have been studied based on different theories, concessions, positions, directions.
