Abstract This study presents an analysis of pH, temperature, turbidity, and electrical conductivity (EC) measured at 10 sampling stations along the middle and lower reaches of the Zarafshan River during the spring season of 2026. The spring period, characterized by peak hydrological activity due to glacial and snowmelt, reflects the widest range of physicochemical parameter variability. Water pH increased consistently from upstream to downstream, ranging from 7.56 to 10.33. EC values ranged between 418 and 3040 μS/cm, showing an increase in lower reach salinization beginning at Station 6 (1956 μS/cm).. Water temperature varied between 18.5 and 24.3°C, displaying a mosaic distribution driven by local factors. Turbidity exhibited a bimodal pattern, enabling the distinction of dam-affected zones (N1: 0.949 g/L) from urban-industrial zones (N10: 0.551 g/L).
